Billy's καντίνα

One of the best places for street food after a long night out. I cannot be unbiased when I talk about Billy's. I've been a loyal customer for almost 15 years. Billy's was responsible for my extra kilos when I was younger... Everybody in Athens will argue that they know the best street food "vromiko". They might indeed do, but to me Billy's is my go to place late at night on my way home. During these years they were minor changes in the menu, but nothing that could change my positive opinion about his food. The sandwich and the hot dog are his all-time classics. By the way, his old street food van seems to be destroyed in a fire accident. You will find him just down the street in a van-like shop.

It might seem like a simple cantina but this place is QUALITY. It's actually a family business passed on for generations, the original used to be on Alimou Ave., I remember going there as teenager and being served by his father. What always sold me was the quality of the meat, no hard pieces, pre-marinated... they always respected their customers even back in the days when there were a lot of very poor quality souvlaki joints. So glad he's back, even if it's nowhere near Alimo, I'll drive 3-40min for it no sweat.
